Ting Chun Liu > “Imaginary Landscape” (11:15 and 1:15 p.m.)
The audio-visual performance explores ideal other sides of travel images in social media. Sharpen your critical view on it, limitations/prejudices of the technical-aesthetic basis of current image generation are up for discussion.
Benita Martis > “Information War”
After the Corona pandemic and with the outbreak of war in Ukraine, conspiracy myths are intensifying in German-speaking countries under wide coverage. TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, relevant websites and chat apps such as Telegram have also long been a strategic means of spreading propaganda. But what impact does the media production of war images have on our individual attitudes and behaviors toward war? Immerse yourself in a game of misinformation, exaggeration and AI. For the use (language: German) you need the app Telegram.
Lisa Reutelsterz > “John & Mary”
Can a machine express itself in terms of emotions or pain or even judge them? And what do we as human viewers understand about it, or how do we understand it?
The video work [John and Mary] is an audiovisual experiment and a differential experience that blurs the boundaries between human and machine, natural and artificial algorithms, emotion and its machine reproduction. A tension between machine and human semantics is formed, blurring and ambiguities in language open up new spaces of meaning.
Immanuel Bach & Leon-Etienne Kühr > “Read/Write from Memory” (12:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.)
The performative AI reading lets an AI translate a text live in image and text form alternately forwards and backwards. The original text runs in a continuous cycle in the vastness of the possibilities between humans and AI.
Maya Funke > “RHO-DO-DEN-DRON 2”
Animation from drawings colored by means of GAN (Generative Adversarial Networks), acrylic, base.
This work is part of an ongoing exploration of generative machine learning processes. How are the technologies we create related to us and what training material are we fed? How does a cyborg remember?
